How to add tracks to your iTunes Library

Adding music that hasn't been downloaded from iTunes to your iPod is really easy, just follow these three steps and you will be done in no time! If you need further help or have any questions, contact us and we can help you out.

Step One: Downloading Music

First of all, make sure you have some music you want to put onto your iPod. If you're using one of the sites we have reviewed here, they all work in basically the same way; you click download on the album or songs you want and they are moved to the 'Downloads' section of your online account. You then need to download them to your PC. Do this by clicking 'download' again.

Step Two: Saving the Downloads

Downloading music from a website to your PC is easy, you will be asked where you want to save your downloads to. Browse to the 'Music' folder on your PC. Depending on your operating system, this will either be a folder inside 'My Documents' or a folder on it's own. Inside 'My Music' there will be another folder, called 'iTunes'. Inside this folder, you'll find 'iTunes Media'. Open this folder and in there will be another folder, named 'Automatically Add to iTunes'. Save any music downloads into this folder.

Step Three: Open iTunes

Once the music has finished downloading, open up iTunes and you will see your music has been added. You can now drag the songs to your iPod as you would with any other tracks. When it comes to saving more music and you next go into the 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder, you will see it is empty. This is supposed to happen; iTunes has done it's job and added the music to your library for you! Easy as that!
